About our School （Youchien）
Our kindergarten is situated in the historic castle town of Iwakuni City, adjacent to a Buddhist temple.
Since 2021, we have been welcoming children of foreign nationality.
Classes for children aged 3 and above are intentionally kept small, with around 10 students per class. Enrollment is open from the month following the child’s third birthday, and we can accommodate approximately 3 foreign children per class.
Our approach to childcare encourages children to develop independence and learn through engaging activities such as music, crafts, and outdoor play. There are ample opportunities for children to immerse themselves in Japanese culture.
While our teachers educate children in Japanese, communication with parents is conducted in English. Please note that English-speaking staff may not always be available.

Temporary childcare
- Regardless of reasons for using temporary childcare, the service is available during the hours below to children of Classification 1 as well.
- Service fee required.（lunch fee is required additionally for Saturdays and during long vacations）
- Weekdays After hour 4:00 P.M.
- Weekdays Sat 7:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
- Long vacations（spring/summer/winter）: Same hours as above

- Alternate day off for childcare or other events on Saturday and Sunday.

Coming to Yochien
Children must be brought to and picked up from Yochien.
Consult with Yochien for staff to pick up and drop off if necessary.

First , please make an appointment for a tour of school by email.
We will give you a detailed explanation and application documents during the visit.
